SHRM’s Have A Voice! campaign is a nonpartisan effort intended to energize SHRM members about the 2012 elections. Have a Voice! hopes to motivate HR professionals to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the primaries and November election. We hope the tools and information provided during this campaign will help you as you encourage your employees to register and vote. It is not intended to advocate in favor of any particular candidate, political party or ballot initiative. Rather, we hope it will help to increase voter participation this fall, and we know that we can count on you to share these sentiments with your family, friends and colleagues.
The Have A Voice! campaign is a part of the Society’s continuing effort to be a recognized leader in workplace public policy. As an HR professional, and one of over 260,000 members of SHRM, you have the opportunity to vote and have your voice heard through the ballot box.
This site will help you to successfully orchestrate a voter education campaign, inform you on how to register yourself and others to vote and give you the tools to host your own “Returns Party.” On this site you will find information on voter registration deadlines, ballot initiatives in your state, tips on how to organize a voter registration drive in your workplace, as well as up-to-date polling information. Be sure to check back frequently to enter to win fabulous prizes and HR Votes 2012 gear!
As an HR professional your voice counts toward affecting workplace policies enacted into law in Washington and in your state capital. By actively encouraging others to participate in the process and exercise their constitutional right to vote, you directly impact the public policy process! Taking action and exercising your voice is neither difficult nor complex and we ask that you help your employees not to take this opportunity for granted on Election Day. SHRM’s Have A Voice! campaign will help you do this!
